Former Student Work

Former Student Work

Roll Call:  This short film had extremely good attributes including the cohesive story line, different scenary and settings. Some of the scenes could have looked better or more enticing using faster paced editing such as whip pan to suprise the audience. Using a steadier camera in the beginning shots would have also been prouduced better if they had used a steadicam to film. In addition, lack of props in the background of the interviews created a dull shot that may be boring to the viewers. Also, intoducing more folley sounds to add emphasize on what was happening.

New Everything:  This film used effectively a invisible cut zooming in and zooming out, match cut while displaying the student walking, and folley sounds to add emphasize to his steps. A scene that could have been displayed better was the walking into school scene it wasn't as seamless as it could have been and didn't add very much to the plot.

Dreamland: The films setting and props were very aestheitcally pleasing. The beginning took use of editing the film together using using slow motion and montage. The background music is also effective in adding to the narrative. Using fade to black to cut the scene and transition to the next setting added to the film itself. Close up shots of the medicine add to the plot and entertain the reader on what the story of the girl actually is. The closing where she just walks away leaves the viewer pondering what the story was. Overall, this film was incredibly done.

Dear lover: Beginning setting shots combined with music was really well done for the establishing shots. Using fade to blacks was not a bad choice but it might have added to the film if a match or invisible cut had been used instead. The use of cross cut's to think about the past was insightful adding a vast amount of information to the audience in a short time.

Dare to Thrill: This film was fast moving and the background music definielty increased the speed at which it felt the film take place. The close up and dolley shots of the car were taken extremely well and were a high point for this film. I think the dialouge could have been increased adding more to the film. However, besides that the entire film was not poorly done.
