Final Project mood board

Image
FINAL PROJECT MOOD BOARD     In this mood board, I used pictures of a fancy and modern house to represent the setting at the beginning of the film. The dark outside sky representing the majority of where the trailer takes place. The sign saying, “Boo!”, shows a lot of the main color scheme that will be used in the film. Such as black, orange, and grey. The bloody knife representing a vital prop. And overall, the rest of pictures just describing the story creating a mood of uneasiness in the audience, as they see the woman stalked.      I wanted to create of feeling of uneasiness in the audience by the trailer. I wanted to create a feeling of uneasiness, in order to hook and entice the reader to continue to watch. It is important that a feeling of dread and worry is created so the audience needs to know what happened with the stalker and girl. My partner and I will create a mood of unease with similar horrifying images and colors as shown in the mood b...

Final Project Idea

Image
FINAL PROJECT IDEA Aden Mangones and I final project idea will be a horror movie. The short film will include many different variations of horrifying sequences for the audience to perceive. About a girl who is stalked, chased, and a kill sequence, where she barely escapes. The scenes will be set beginning in a bright and positive house setting, but will turn into a more sinister location, as her family leaves for a trip for the weekend. She is left alone with the killer. Thus, leaves the girl feeling isolated... but only at night. The twist is the killer only comes at night, so by the morning the girl feels like she made it. But the killer returns every night. Because the chase occurs exclusively in her home and the killer only stalks at night the film will differ from many other cliched horror flicks.      Mangones and I took inspiration from one of our favorite horror films, scream. This movie is a classic, however, we thought taking a twist on it where the whole...

Title Sequence

Image
Severance       This title sequence immediately enticed me because of its uncanny, eerie dimensions that it brought to the audience in the very beginning of the show. The show began with a title sequence that essentially gave a summary of the main plot line of the entire show. Showing the main character float from in and out of his home and work life which has been methodically separated by surgical means. The title sequence shows the main characters sucked up through a syringe turned into a mush combined with very little typography created an eerie tone, not to mention music that matched.  Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street       In this title sequence, blood was a main concept that trickled through out the sequence. The theme of blood created a powerful mood of melancholy and grief including dark colors and terrifying images. It began with a blue smoke that arose and then pan overview of the city at night. It pans over in...

Brainstorming

Image
My partner and I began exploring the many different genre options, and the positives and negatives to each of them. A few genres that stuck out to us as we began researching included, horror, thrillers, science fiction, and romance. Aden and I believe those 4 options would be the most interesting and exciting to create for the short film. We wanted to take into consideration the different elements of film available. (Mis en scene, transitions, editing, storyline, etc.)       Immediately I was interested in horror because of different mis en scene, storyline, and angle options that we could create. For me there was many different was you can take horror in a creativity perspective which is why it is a top candidate for us. Both Aden and I found thrillers very intriguing given that we could be similar to horror but have a more options for the storyline. Crossing over genres also being an option for us. Another option Aden and I took into cons...
