FINAL PROJECT IDEA

Aden Mangones and I final project idea will be a horror movie. The short film will include many different variations of horrifying sequences for the audience to perceive. About a girl who is stalked, chased, and a kill sequence, where she barely escapes. The scenes will be set beginning in a bright and positive house setting, but will turn into a more sinister location, as her family leaves for a trip for the weekend. She is left alone with the killer. Thus, leaves the girl feeling isolated... but only at night. The twist is the killer only comes at night, so by the morning the girl feels like she made it. But the killer returns every night. Because the chase occurs exclusively in her home and the killer only stalks at night the film will differ from many other cliched horror flicks. 

    Mangones and I took inspiration from one of our favorite horror films, scream. This movie is a classic, however, we thought taking a twist on it where the whole story would be set in one location and time. This will add many intense and horrifying feelings to the reader as imminent danger becomes more and more present as the killer gets closer. Another factor, Mangones and I considered was budget. We had consider sci-fi or romance. But the many of these different genres we found would be difficult to execute the proper Mis-En-Scene and production properly with a low budget. So, in this film we will use props such as a fake folding knife, fake blood, and a costume for killer... We will make the characters outifts look modern, the technology in the background look brand new if not set back a few years, and make sure to use expensive clothes, materials, props, silverware, and other different aspects to imply that the characters are rich in the story. With the events happening around this year maybe a few back.  

    Overall, we found horror being the genre we would like to plan and execute a short film, the idea of a being alone in a house at night is scary in itself, not to mention a killer stalking you. In summary, as our characters family departs for a weekend business trip, the settings will shift from their initial homely and cheery home setting to a more sinister one. Thus, leaving her isolated because she is left with the murderer, but only at night. The twist is that the girl feels like she made it by morning because the killer only appears at night. But each night, the murderer comes again.
