 Color

Time for COLOR THEORY! For Aden and I our project is a horror movie! So, our color pallets will DEFINITELY be dark and horrifying for the majority of our short film. The particular aspects of mis-en-scene, using specific props and colors in the scene to convey a terrifying tone to the audience. Our main color scheme will be a regular middle-class put together house including some browns, whites, grays, and blacks. However, these are mainly going to be the backgrounds shown to the audience, These are not the main thematic color we are striving to include in our film opening.
So, to start off! The use of colored costuming will mostly be included in the LACK of color in the character. Showing a sense of lackluster that the main character is lazy as she feels unloved and unappreciated. Pushing the reader to relate and care for the main character. Ella’s neutral color tone really proves very important telling much about her as a main character. Including the white sweatshirt that she ways portraying her innocence. Along with the loneliness that she feels in the film opening.  The reputable black glove is also extremely important showing the intimidation that the killer will reach. Emphasizing the precautionary ideas of death that is soon to come…
Now, finishing filtering that Aden and I may use for the bettering of the horror film. We may use a few color overlays and fades to add to the horrifying tone we are working to create with this film. Filtering the scenes with dark colors as get closer to the ALMOST kill scene. We are hoping to provide a progressively scarier tone. Doing this as the movie builds so the audience becomes uncomfortable with each shot.
