COSTUMING!
Costumes are super important to how we present the characters to the audience! Especially, because we aren't including tons of dialogue since the main character is home alone. After careful consideration, Aden and I decided what specific features of our ideas with costuming. To begin, for our main character she will be putting her in regular everyday house clothes that one would wear when they get home from school. Her hairstyle will be up in a low ponytail. These will be provided from my closet as I play the character, sweatpants and the long sleeve will be my outfit. Aden will be playing the killer, and we will obtain his costume from party city. However, since the only thing showing is his black glove, that is all we will purchase to save money.
We chose these specifics for the costumes to show the realism we would like to display to the audience. Really to provide a this could happen to anyone this could occur to anyone in their lives. Further scaring the audience in the film. The status of the family should be clear. Wealthy, put together, and things similar to that vibe which will be shown through our setting. The comfy clothes will imply that Ella has a carefree, laziness that her parents don’t care for or have themselves. The costume of the killer will show that it could be just anyone in their neighborhood, creating a sense of realism.
