Day 1 of Shooting

 Day 1 of Shooting!!!


    Aden and I just finished our first day of filming!! What a tough day! (And it’s only the beginning!!)  Believing that it would take a few moments to set up the shots today but we were proven EXTREMELY WRONG. After trial and error we found that the shot we wanted to take today was…. the ending shot! We believed it would show us how we would set up the rest of our film opening!

Here is a picture of us on set while filming our ending! 


For starters, Aden and I’s further plans to continue our filming later on. We planned to have our second day of filming today, although a short one, today February 19, 2024. After this, we will get together again to film even more on Saturday February 24, 2024. We are hoping to take the establishing shot and shoot where we go through the door and pan so the viewer may see a full viewer of Ella’s house.

When it comes to the audio and video of this scene. We are considering just muting the sound because there’s a consistent humming from the air conditioning unit nearby. But! No worries! Aden and I agreed we could rely on foley for the scream being LOUDER, the curtain making a justifiable noise of the objects being thrown on the ground. It super important how audio works with visual which is why we are taking the time to enhance the audio! Believe it or not, we shot this multiple times before coming to the final clip and would say it’s the best one!

Group Dynamics      Almost at the end! But not quite… my area of work and focus is really just getting started! I loved this project, because Aden and I split the work evenly, in my opinion! My partner Aden Mangones did the majority of the directing and planning out the film! But for the particular details of our film Aden included detailed mis en scene and creating intricate shots. We both knew he was the more intricate one which he used for his directing role. I did the acting as the main character, and he had a role as the killer's hand.
