Sound! HORROR! In my last blog post I discussed the intricacies of our first filming session! Since then we have had 2 filming days total. And a continuing pattern Aden and I have found is a NEED for more sound. What is an essential aspect of horror? Sound! So, today I will be discussing the different choices of diegetic and non-diegetic sound that we will pay considerable attention to for our film opening. To begin with, going into this we knew a considerable amount of non-diegetic sound would be needed to push the audience to understand the tone we are working to convey. However, let’s first begin with diegetic sound. For instance, from our very first shot we saw that the scream in our shot could not be capture at its full volume in the scene.
